Sustaining Fort Wayne

Sustaining Fort Wayne is an initiative dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of all its citizens in the face of climate change.

The Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) serves as a comprehensive road map for Sustaining Fort Wayne. The actions outlined in the CAAP will increase the City’s adaptability and resiliency to a changing climate. Download the CAAP to learn more!

City Utilities Grease Cooperative (CUGC)

Restaurants can do their part to Sustain Fort Wayne by joining the City Utilities Grease Cooperative.

Many of the foods we eat contain fats, oils, and grease (FOG), which clogs and damage sewer pipes. CUGC works with food service establishments to help them manage their grease by scheduling appropriate FOG removal, which prevents backups and costly fines. The FOG is then used as a renewable fuel source for City Utilities’ Water Pollution Control Plant.
